Coffee from Burundi
Burundi is a small country in the heart of Africa, with hills and highlands where coffee ripens slowly. Our beans come from smallholders in the northern highlands, at 1,700 to 2,000 metres. The altitude and the cool climate give a sweet, smooth coffee.
From cherry to bean
The ripe coffee cherries are picked by hand and then fully washed: the pulp is removed, the beans ferment briefly and are washed. They then dry on raised beds, with air all around them. This keeps the taste clean and clear.
